My stay at Acevi Villarroel was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic-close to public transport and surrounded by restaurants, which was a plus. However, I hit some bumps with my room; the air conditioning didn't quite work right, and I had trouble getting a good temperature in the shower. It felt more like a mediocre experience than the boutique vibe I was hoping for.
Rooms
5.0
I found my room to be clean, but it was humid and hot, even with the AC set low. The layout was awkward since my partner and I requested a double bed but ended up with two separated beds, which made it less cozy. Plus, I noticed some outdated amenities like poor TV selection and a lack of coffee makers in the room.
Service
6.0
The staff were friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. However, there were problematic moments, like when the room service staff seemed rude about providing basic items. It felt like they could improve their communication and customer service.
Location

The location was great for getting around Barcelona. With the city center just a short walk away and easy access to buses, I enjoyed exploring the area. Yet, it was a bit off the main attractions, which meant I had to plan a bit more for my outings.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast options were pretty minimal and didn't live up to expectations. I was hoping for something more substantial given the price, and the coffee service was a bit confusing, too. Luckily, there were cafes around for a better bite.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had some decent facilities like a small pool area, but I found it to be underwhelming overall. The lack of a working mini-bar and the unpleasant smell in the fridge just added to my disappointment.

I had a mixed experience at Acevi Villarroel. The location was fantastic, allowing me to explore Barcelona easily, and the cleanliness of my room was commendable. However, I was disappointed with the amenities, especially the outdated pool area and the lack of tea and coffee facilities. Overall, it served its purpose as a place to rest after a day of sightseeing, but it may need some updates to truly shine.
Rooms

I found my room spacious and generally well laid out, but the bed linen felt a bit tired, and the TV was smaller than I preferred. There were no coffee or tea-making facilities, which I missed during my stay.
Service

The front desk staff were friendly and attentive, especially Daniella who was incredibly helpful during my stay. However, I noticed the housekeeping lagged a bit on my first day, which was slightly frustrating.

The hotel's location was one of its best features. Eixample offered some wonderful dining options nearby, and I was only a short walk from La Rambla and the metro station.

Breakfast had its moments, but overall I didn't find it great. I had hoped for more variety and better quality, which was a letdown considering the cost.
Facilities

While the rooftop pool area was available, it was quite small and not as inviting as I had expected. Additionally, the hotel lacked basic amenities like room service.

My stay at Acevi Villarroel was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic, offering a quiet atmosphere and easy access to the city's attractions. However, I was disappointed by some aspects like the weak internet connection and odd bathroom designs. Overall, it felt more like a solid 3-star hotel than the advertised 4 stars.
Rooms
6.0
The rooms were spacious and clean, which I appreciated. However, the double bed was just two twins pushed together, and the strange bathroom design with frosted glass doors was less than ideal for privacy.
Service

While the staff was generally friendly and accommodating, my check-in experience was awkward, and I encountered issues with the pre-departure check-out process that created unnecessary hassles.
Location

The hotel is situated in a nice neighborhood, just a short walk from the city center. This made it convenient for exploring key attractions without the noise of a busy area.
Dining

Breakfast was acceptable but left something to be desired. I expected better options from a 4-star hotel, but it wasn't a complete letdown.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities, including the pool, were decent, but I was frustrated that the spa came at an additional cost and was limited in options. I also experienced issues with the weak internet signal during my stay.

While the staff was generally friendly and helpful, the service didn't seem to meet the expected standards of a four-star hotel. Overall, it was an average stay. 😕
